This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, including details provided through our web application (the “App”) when you participate in South Australia’s container deposit scheme through our services.

We do not collect full credit card numbers through the App.

Where we use your personal information for direct marketing (such as updates about our services), this will be done in accordance with APP 7 and you may opt out at any time.

Where privacy law requires a legal basis (e.g. under the APPs):
We collect and use personal information with your consent (e.g. when you sign up and provide details);
To perform our contract with you (providing collection and refund services);
To comply with legal obligations (container deposit scheme requirements, record-keeping and reporting); and
For our legitimate interests, such as improving our services and preventing fraud, in a way that is proportionate and respects your privacy rights.

We may disclose your personal information to:
Financial institutions and payment providers to process refunds;
IT and cloud service providers who host or support our App and systems;
Regulators and government bodies, including the Environment Protection Authority (SA) or other agencies responsible for administering the container deposit scheme, where required or authorised by law;
Professional advisers (e.g. accountants, auditors, legal advisers);
Law enforcement or other authorities where we are required or authorised to do so.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure (APP 11).
These steps may include:
Encryption of sensitive information (including bank details) in transit and at rest where appropriate;
Role-based access controls and authentication measures;
Secure storage systems and regular security updates;
Staff training and confidentiality obligations.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the App and provide information at your own risk.
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it and, where required, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to:
Provide our services and maintain your account;
Meet our legal, tax, regulatory and record-keeping obligations (including under SA container deposit scheme rules);
Resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
When personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to de-identify or securely destroy it.

You have the right to request:
Access to personal information we hold about you (APP 12); and
Correction of personal information you believe is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete or misleading (APP 13).
